Christina Anstead is one of the most popular show guests on HGTV. She and her husband won the famous Tarek El Moussa while hosting the reality series Flip and Flop, which the couple followed as they renovated homes for profit in the Orange County area. Even after the separation, the two remained business partners and continued filming their show.
Anstead then went out to a new series, Christina on the Coast, which was equally well liked by fans. With so much success hosting HGTV, it’s little wonder though that the 37-year-old mother of three didn’t think she’d be a TV star. In fact, she had a completely different career in her own mind.
Christina Anstead had only 1 career in her life
Anstead was born in Orange County and other than traveling, she never left the area in which she was raised Flip and Flop a hostess started working in real estate just after she went to community college and met her husband, Tarek, at work. The two set up groups and worked together to sell houses. Next, they teamed up with business partner Pete De Best to start sliding homes in 2010, realtor.com reported. They bought their first property for $ 115,000 and made a profit of $ 34,000 – a real achievement for the first people.
The El Moussas went into financial trouble after the 2008 stock market crash. However, Tarek had the brilliant idea of reaching out to HGTV producers about a series that could focus on home flipping. Flip and Flop it became a major blow to the network.
She originally wanted to be a sports agent ‘like Jerry Maguire’
Anstead is extremely talented at the job, which makes it difficult to picture her doing anything else. But in Instagram career, she opened up about her original career aspirations, when they are as far from home returning as you can get.
“I never thought of being on TV. I wanted to be a sports agent like Jerry Maguire, ”she wrote in a lengthy commentary about herself.
“But I always loved looking after houses with my parents especially model homes and I always wanted to be my own boss … So, in college when I was (intuitively) called for my premises at a local community college and I followed my lead. I started in real estate at 21 which led to the sale of houses which led to the return of houses that led to TV.
She continued: “Now, although I never wanted to be on television, it was a step out of my comfort zone and into the unknown.”
Christina Anstead begins a new chapter
Anstead recently surprised fans by announcing that she and her husband Ant Anstead were getting divorced after just two years of marriage. But one thing she was always good at is resuming herself, even when times are tough.
These days, Anstead aims to do a great job and be a passionate mother, wherever life takes her next.
