After an awfully long wait, Garten waited anxiously Modern comfort food last published. As for the recipe, it’s pretty simple, use ingredients you might have in your current pantry: macaroni elbow, heavy cream, grated Cheddar cheese, Gruyere grated cheese (or just use more Cheddar! ), Ground nutmeg, melted butter, and fresh bread crumbs.

Garten’s secret for the “overnight” part of the recipe? Take the pasta and keep the finished casserole in the refrigerator for 24 hours.

When you’re ready to bake, keep it out for an hour and then it’s ready to go into your preheated oven.
