Jeff Mauro undoubtedly became the “Sandwich King” when he won Food Network Star almost ten years ago. Her witty nature and creative use of ingredients won her own Food Network TV show, King of Sandwich, and afterwards moved on to become a co-host of The Kitchen.
Today, he continues to co-host the show with other hobbies and is still known to fans as the “King of Sandwich.” When Mauro’s famed claim was first implemented, his choice of ingredients, techniques and foods were his favorite pastime of world-renowned chefs.
While some other chefs and judges have come up with their terrific choices, this food with Mauro is hated as one that appears in many common recipes.
Jeff Mauro is still king of sandwiches
Across social media, Mauro shares his favorite recipes, partners with favorite food and appliance companies, and combines it to give his fans new and exciting ways to make more sandwiches. He talks about his favorite pizza in Chicago, how he prefers burgers over hot dogs, and crushes barbecue potato chips cooked with a kettle on many of his favorite creations.
He recently talked about a new way to make a cordon bleu sandwich. Traditionally, this dish is seen as gourmet or gourmet. Mauro turned out to be something fans can cook in their own kitchens any day of the week.
One ingredient will never make its way to Mauro’s kitchen
Some fans may see barbecue potato chips sliced on a gourmet sandwich and balk but that’s nothing compared to Mauro’s response to various ingredients. After winning it Food Network Star, one Food Network the interviewer found that Mauro could not stand cottage cheese. He told Food Network,
“I’ve never used it, and if I have control, I’ll keep it that way. So I wouldn’t feel comfortable preparing it. ”
The internet is full of recipes that toss cottage cheese as a staple in the average kitchen. It is used in casseroles, bakte products, salads, pasta dishes, and snacks as a healthy protein. However, according to Mauro, fans will never see him in his recipes.
There is endless other food for the sandwich king
Cottage cheese is not the only popular food that Mauro intends to avoid as often as possible. He has also talked about his hatred of boiled eggs, and hard boiled eggs in general.
In a forward thread Reddit, Mauro told fans that boiled eggs, “before spring, are calcareous and smell fat.”
It tells of lovable eggs cooked in any other way but that the texture of hard boiled eggs is something that cannot stand. Mauro never talked about it, but fans might get an interesting response about telling him that there are recipes that use cottage cheese to make boiled eggs.
Quarantine edition of ‘The Kitchen’
The pandemic that has delayed production for multiple shows across multiple networks has not stopped Mauro from showing his fans how to cook at home from his own kitchen. He appeared with several other chefs on a special program with Food Network in April 2020.
Fans express across social media that they love to see famous chefs at home, Mauro among them. He cooked a crispy Provençal skinned salmon with a burnt red cabbage salad and showed his audience that this seemingly tricky dish could be made with items found in the average grocery store.

As well as bringing them recipes from his home, Mauro also connects with fans about parenting and e-learning. He often posts about his son Lorenzo and the rest of the family while stuck at home and fans associate him with their own experiences.
Mauro may not like cottage cheese or boiled eggs but that doesn’t seem to make him as popular or accessible to his fans.
