Teenage comedy 2004 Mean girls one of the most iconic films of the 2000s. In the opinion of SNL creator Lorne Michaels and comedian Tina Fey, this film developed a cult following thanks to timeless humor, over-the-top situations, and so much teenage angst. Mean girls it’s boundless and definitely funny. But it doesn’t make perfect sense.
Fey wrote the screenshot based on Rosalind Wiseman’s non-fiction self-help book in 2002, Queen Bees and Wannabes and her own experience in high school, according to IMDb. But despite these effects, North Shore High School has some details that do not correspond to the truth.
Cady Heron’s backup misses a bit of information
Mean girls fans are well aware that Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan) is just trying to get into her new high school after spending most of her life in Africa while her parents were doing research. What doesn’t make sense is why Cady tells the students at the school that she was, “just moved here from Africa. ”Africa is a continent, not a country. Why not be more specific?
And also Cady doesn’t have a clear taste despite living in “Africa” for at least 12 years. It is not logical.
Cady should know what everyone was wearing at a Halloween party
High school girls would not dream of going to a party without first talking to each other about what everyone is spending. It was funny to see Cady appear in a hideous, scary suit when all the other girls knew sexy clothes.
But to think that Regina, Gretchen, and Karen didn’t show off their clothes – or at least discuss them – doesn’t show teenagers getting ready to attend a party.
Characters keep breaking the fourth wall for no reason
When an actor in film or television speaks to the audience by looking into the camera to speak, it is called breaking the fourth wall. This happens twice Mean girls but it seems to serve no point or drive the story forward.
It makes sense that the new student Cady Heron was not in the Burn Book
One of the main conflicts in the film was the release of the Burn Book, which contained painful or even illicit information about students and teachers at North Shore High School. The principal narrows the critics to Cady, Gretchen, and Karen as they are not in the book.
But why would he expect a new student to be part of the Burn Book, which he had been working on for years?
The Janice Ian story had a few flaws
Cady ‘s friend, Janice (Lizzy Caplan), a stranger who is too familiar with Regina George and the Plastics, is one of the best characters in the film. But there are a couple of weird things in her story.
For example, during the talent show concert the audience learns that Janice designed a “Jingle Bell Rock” dance. This looks wild out of Janice ‘s character and doesn’t fit on the timeline when she stopped being friendly with Regina.
Plus, the kiss scene between Janice and her best friend Damon is weird and useless.
Enjoying Mean girls means stop your frustration just a little bit. But fans know that effort is totally worth it.
