‘The War with Grandpa’ Pits Robert De Niro Against His Wily Grandson

Despite being a two-time Oscar winner, Robert De Niro has rarely turned down an opportunity to undertake various projects. The actor, after all, appeared in classic movies like Goodfellas and Deer Hunter but also Small retailers and The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle. The War with Grandfather aimed at separating the difference between its intense and curved sides.

Robert De Niro fights youth today in ‘The War with Grandpa’

After losing his wife, Ed (De Niro) – on the orders of his daughter (Uma Thurman) – moves in with her family. But to accommodate their new resident, Ed ends up taking over Peter (Oakes Fegley, Dragon Pete) bedroom. Encouraged by being put down to the loft, Peter develops a plan to reclaim his space. And so on The War with Grandfather starting.

As the turf battle worsens, grandparents and grandchildren try to overwhelm each other in a series of childish tricks. So listeners are thrilled to see De Niro fumble with a drone working inside for a treat. For younger viewers, The War with Grandfather which has a special charm that is expected. And De Niro, Thurman, and Rob Riggle totally get the broad humor with which they work.

Then again, 2020 has been short of new releases. To that end, families looking for low-risk comedy may come with a hard message The War with Grandfather. The film tries to cram into a few too many subplots and running gags. But overall, it’s a fitting visual experience with some fun moments and a very tight turn by Thurman.
