‘I Love Lucy’: The Last Words Desi Arnaz Said to Lucille Ball – And the Special Day He Said Them


I Love Lucy comedian Lucille Ball and her Cuban band husband Desi Arnaz strongly. Featuring on-screen husband and wife Ricky and Lucy Ricardo, their sitcom marriage was far more elegant than their real-life union off-camera.

Separating after 20 years, the couple’s relationship was turbulent from the beginning. Although Arnaz overcame alcohol and infidelity over their two decades together, the couple maintained a strong bond with each other after the separation that lasted until Arnaz’s death.

Desi Arnaz died of lung cancer

Arnaz died on December 2, 1986 at the age of 69. Although he and Ball had remarried (Edith, Arnaz’s second wife died in 1985) I Love Lucy the team was still connected.

“Mr. Arnaz had been ill with cancer for several months, and my family and I have been praying for his relief from this terrible problem, ”said a Member, according to the Los Angeles Times. “Desi died early in the morning in his daughter’s arms. Our relationship had been very close, humorous, over the years, and now I am thankful to God that Desi’s suffering is over. ”

A strong smoker, Arnaz’s doctor said TV star lung cancer was caused by the abuse.

“It was from smoking these cigarettes from Cuba,” said Dr Charles Campbell. “That’s the truth.”

“Until I went back to my little diary, I never realized that the date of this was 30 November,” said Lucie from the couple’s last phone call. “The same date on their wedding anniversary.”
